Artificial turf, also known as synthetic grass, is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to natural grass. An important advantage is that artificial grass can also withstand heavy traffic and is more durable than natural grass. Sometimes it is worth paying attention to this, especially if the garden is not very large and children play in the yard from morning to night.
As for the disadvantages, it should be noted that artificial turf still feels different from the real thing. Sometimes it can heat up at too high temperatures, but it has a fairly stable protection against ultraviolet radiation.
Artificial turf is more expensive than natural grass, but long-term maintenance costs are lower. There is no need to install irrigation systems or use lawn mowers. However, to keep it in good condition, it is necessary to periodically clean and comb the fibres.
Sometimes it is advisable to combine real and artificial turf. If some parts of the garden are shaded or have an active constant load, it makes sense to use artificial turf in those places.
